2002 Porsche 911 996 Targa

The Porsche 996 Targa is a distinctive variant of the 996-generation 911, produced between 2002 and 2004. It combines the performance and handling of the iconic 911 with the open-air experience of a Targa top, featuring a unique electrically operated sliding glass roof panel and a top-hinged glass rear hatch — a first for the 911 line.

Under the rear deck sits Porsche’s 3.6-litre flat-six engine, producing around 320 horsepower, paired with a Tiptronic automatic transmission. The Targa shares its wider Carrera body and refined interior, offering leather trim, power-adjustable seats, and high-quality materials throughout.

The glass roof design gives the cabin a bright, airy feel while maintaining the car’s coupe-like rigidity and sleek silhouette. The rear hatch adds practicality, providing easy access to the rear luggage area — a rare convenience in a 911.
